Laughing kookaburra
(Dacelo novaeguineae)
One of Australia's best known birds with its distinctive laugh. It nests in hollow tree or tunnel in arboreal termite mound. Colours - white brown with slight colouring of blue on the wing. Common in woodland, forest and wooded waterways in Eastern Australia but has been introduced into the south west of Western Australia, Tasmania, Flinders Island and Kangaroo island.
